Now Muscovites with musculoskeletal disorders can take part in the Program «Act without Obstacles!»
Since 2022, residents of the capital with musculoskeletal disorders can join the city program «Act without Obstacles!». The result of the work will be socially significant projects created by teams of Muscovites with disabilities and implemented with the support of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Moscow (DTSZN) together with the Moscow City Organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled (MGO VOI).
The selection includes a detailed questionnaire survey, a creative task and an interview. The questionnaire survey are accepted by the organizers until November 3 inclusive.
«The Program „Act without Barriers!“ gives people with disabilities the opportunity to identify key issues of accessibility of the urban environment that require additional attention. This year we decided to expand the program: now not only active blind residents of the capital, but also Muscovites with musculoskeletal disorders can take part in it. Obviously, no one knows better than those who use a wheelchair themselves what exactly needs to be changed in the city space to make it more convenient for people with limited mobility. The Program „Act without Obstacles!“ will gather the best ideas for improving the accessible environment, train participants in the basics of social design and help implement the best initiatives», — commented Alexey Volodin, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Moscow.
After processing and preliminary selection of the received applications, from November 7 to 10, the contestants will be trained at the Moscow City University of Management of the Government of Moscow. Leading specialists and experts will conduct master classes, lectures and workshops. At the end of the training, participants will receive a state-issued diploma on advanced training in the direction of «Social Programming».
After obtaining the necessary skills, the participants will be divided into teams, where together with like-minded people they will be able to discuss their wildest ideas in order to work together, highlight the main accents for themselves and jointly come to the final presentation of their project.
The final stage is responsible and exciting: writing and defending projects. Participants will be able to complete the full cycle — from the idea to its implementation, and the organizers will decide which project has become the most interesting and useful for the urban environment. The winners of the competition will receive financial support for the implementation of their project and will be able to see how their idea will change the urban space.

To participate in the qualifying round of the program «Act without Obstacles! 2022» it is necessary to submit an application by filling out a special participant form.
The program «Act without Obstacles!» was launched in the spring of 2021. Its first participants were blind Muscovites, who developed and implemented their projects to increase the accessibility of the urban environment for people with visual impairments under the supervision of the Moscow City Organization of the All-Russian Society of the Blind with the support of the DTSZN. The defense of new projects of active blind citizens will take place at the end of this year.
