In November, the Center of socio-cultural Programs «People IN» became the winner of the grant competition for NGOs in the social sphere «Moscow is a good city» 2023

The project «Culture of Russian Sign Language» is designed to develop the skills of expressive Russian sign language for children with hearing impairment through interaction with each other, such interaction will help to establish socialization and adaptation in the world of speaking and hearing people. The course was developed for children under the age of 18 with hearing impairment in families of hearing and inaudible parents living or studying in Moscow.

On June 8, we summed up the results and released the second stream of the project «Culture of Russian sign language».

During each season, the participants studied the basics of the Russian language, rules and grammar, and the history of Slavic writing. Children studied the communication styles of spoken Russian sign language, took exercises to develop the clarity of sign, and learned to translate texts into sign language. The meetings took place at two venues in Moscow, at the Museum of Slavic Writing at VDNH and at the I. D. Sytin Museum-Apartment.

The result of the meetings was a theatrical performance from the participants. The third and fourth streams of the project «Culture of Russian sign language» are currently being recruited. The start of the third season is scheduled for this fall.
