From March 17 to 19, 2023, the team of the inclusive project «People IN» held seminars in Lipetsk, where they talked about the rules of interaction with people with disabilities.

In preparation for the Third International Inclusive Creative Games, which will be held in Lipetsk from March to November 2023, socio-cultural seminars «People IN» were held in the city. The project team, consisting of people with disabilities, gave new knowledge to specialists from social institutions, organizers and volunteers involved in the implementation of the event. The coaches showed how to make the Games accessible and hold them at a high level. During the seminars, participants were explained in simple and understandable language how to properly interact with people with disabilities and effectively create and conduct inclusive events.

Employees of social institutions of the Lipetsk region took an active part in the seminar, as a distinctive feature of the event is interactivity. The listeners did not have to take dictation — they themselves turned into actors. The program consisted of equivalent parts:

  • module of darkness — the formation of a culture of communication with people with visual disabilities;

  • module of silence —the formation of a culture of communication with people with hearing disabilities;

  • module of action—the formation of a culture of communication with people with disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

After passing the seminars, the participants have increased the level of empathy, developed inclusive competencies and will now be able to provide a comfortable environment for all residents of the region.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund in partnership with the administrations of the Lipetsk region and the city of Lipetsk, the Union of All-Russian and Leading Organizations of Disabled People «AbiArt», as well as the methodological support of the N. A. Ostrovsky State Museum-Cultural Center «Integration» and the creative support of the theater of deaf actors «Nedoslov».
