On March 12, a meeting with Alexander Pokhilko, coach of the sociocultural project «People In», took place in the Zarenkov Gallery space in St. Petersburg

Alexander was born without hands and feet, but despite this, he became an artist, actor, athlete, activist and coach of the «People In» project. When he was 14 years old, an exhibition of his paintings was held at the Tretyakov Gallery. He is a participant in TV shows, the author of an autobiography book and trainings that help people recover from injuries. Alexander also conquered Kilimanjaro three times.

The event was hosted by the Director of the N. A. Ostrovsky State Museum and Cultural Center «Integration» Igor Dumenko. Together they discussed the topic of sociocultural projects.

At the meeting, Alexander shared his opinion on the need to integrate people with disabilities into traditional society. «We must learn to see opportunities in what are considered limitations," Alexander said, giving examples of his life and experience of participating in various projects. He emphasized the need to create an accessible environment where everyone can realize their abilities and talents. According to the coach, the key to successful integration lies in the openness of society and their understanding of the situation, as well as in their willingness to help those who face difficulties. In addition, Alexander stressed the importance of motivation and support for loved ones.

In the process, Alexander drew one of the participants of the meeting, showing that there are no barriers to art.
