On October 26, a meeting «People I. N. Faces. A person with a disability in culture «was held in Gostiny Dvor with the project coach Alexander Pokhilko

Alexander is an artist, athlete and motivational coach. An exhibition of his paintings was held at the Tretyakov Gallery when he was 14 years old, he participated in TV shows, authored an autobiography book, conquered Kilimanjaro three times, and actively works in the field of inclusion.

The event was held on the opening day of the National Championship of Professional Skills among people with disabilities «Abilimpix» 2024. The championship is organized by the National Center «Abilimpics» of the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with the support of the ANO «Russia is a country of opportunities».

The meeting was hosted by Igor Dumenko, Director of the Nikolai Ostrovsky State Museum and Cultural Center «Integration».

Alexander told how to talk about disability and communicate properly with people with disabilities. The speaker paid special attention to the topic of accessibility of culture for people with a wide variety of needs, as well as the opportunity to realize oneself in this area.

In the process, Alexander drew one of the participants of the meeting, showing that there are no barriers to art.
